Hiking in Tux in the Tuxer Valley!
The fascinating Hintertuxer Glacier, the clear mountain air and fresh spring water make Tux a hiking paradise for the whole family. Here in the Tuxer Valley you'll find 350 km of signposted hiking paths in a magnificent natural landscape as well as 150 km of excellent mountain bike trails. Located in the Zillertaler Alps Nature Park in an area of 422 km² of pure nature, from Tux you can undertake day tours, multi-day tours, climbing tours and high alpine tours.
For children there is also plenty to discover. For example down in the valley by the river, an inviting place for a leisurely walk with diverse stations to explore, play and have fun at.

The water-driven mill at the Tuxbach river has been turning since 1839. In the past, barley was planted up at the Tuxer high pastures and made into flour. - Impressive waterfalls
The waterfalls at the valley end in Hintertux are breathtaking. Schleier-Waterfall, Kesselfall and Schraubenfall fall roaring into deep rocky holes. the refreshing spring water is drinking water quality! - Cheesemaking at the Stoankasern mountain hut (mid June til end of September)
Up at 1.984 m the Stoankasern mountain hut lies in a wild romantic high pasture setting, amidst grazing animals and alpine roses.
